Since 1934, Dorell has manufactured upholstery fabrics to wholesale customers only. Well, just last month Dorell opened its first retail outlet store in Fountain Valley, where you can find thousands of quality fabrics at incredible prices. The giant warehouse buys bulk clearance and closeout fabrics from top name-brand companies and then passes the savings on to its customers.
You can find everything from velvets to micro suedes, silk, cotton jacquard, lightweight lawn cottons, plus trim, pillows and more. No fabric costs more than $20 per yard. This is a great place to find deals on upholstery fabrics.
It’s open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
10870 Spencer Ave. in Fountain Valley. 714.378.3130.
Cure Duchenne!
Take part in an inspiring event Saturday at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach as the Champions to CureDuchenne raise funds in support of creating awareness and funding the most promising Duchenne research. Duchenne is a devastating and deadly form of muscular dystrophy that affects boys. Special honoree, Kelly Thornton Smith, founder of Center for Living Peace, is being recognized for her support to CureDuchenne. The evening will also pay tribute to Vinny Smith and to 2011 NFL Super Bowl Champion Clay Matthews.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by a dinner created by chefs Massimo Navarretta of Onotria in Costa Mesa and Josef Lageder of the Balboa Bay Club, and live auction and music. Plus, you can bid on a chance to meet Justin Bieber in person at his concert on May 7 in Australia. Just go online here. All proceeds benefit CureDuchenne.
Individual tickets cost $500, with a limited number of non-premium seating tickets priced at $250 each. You can purchase tickets and find out more information, here. 949.872.2552
